Another in a not-so-regular series of posts highlighting nature's nature & 'ain't that odd'
I like technology and love science too. But we all have to be diligent watching some of the scientific ways being suggested to act on nature. Remember, saving nature is not the real focus. Global warming, clean water, pollution and disappearing species have nothing to do with helping nature -- she will simply continue to evolve like she always has.
It is all about our arrogant perspective of saving ourselves and thinking we should interfere with the natural order of things -- we want to put mirrors in space and have no idea of the impact on the planet. We want to inject, bury CO2 in the ground or increase plankton to consume it. We want to put equipment in the oceans to increase the upwelling of cold waters. We want to move asteroids.
Nothing really is about the planet. It is simply all about our arrogant focus to put priorities and ourselves first and above all things.
So scientist and technology actually created many of the killer chemicals, materials, particulate, CO2, plastics and processes. Let's not blindly follow technology and scientific proposed solutions for the sake of our planet. It is all about you. It is all about the human race obsession with self preservation. Be engaged and act with caution using technology to "cure the planet".
